IMD is ranked number one worldwide in the Financial Times 2008 combined executive education rankings, a shared first place with Harvard Business School. IMD is also ranked second in custom (tailored) programs and third in open-enrollment programs (up from fifth in 2007).
“We are delighted,” commented John R. Wells, IMD President. “These rankings are an endorsement of what IMD stands for: responsible leadership, great teamwork, learning that impacts business performance, a global view and the right combination of rigor and relevance in new business knowledge and insights.”
“These rankings reflect our customers’ appreciation of IMD's holistic approach to learning,” added Professor Seán Meehan, Dean of External Relations. “We offer a full executive education portfolio ranging from programs tailored to meet the specific development needs of a single company to programs addressing the needs of executives from different organizations. We deliver programs in Lausanne and off campus and have maintained an innovative edge in distance and action learning. We are driven by the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on executives and companies and we are judged accordingly.”
IMD runs 21 open enrollment programs covering a range of general management and leadership topics.
“Participants have ranked IMD Open Programs among the top year after year,” said Guy Schroecker, Head of Client Services. “This consistency reflects the ongoing effort of our Faculty and staff to deliver top programs.”
Custom programs’ number one rank in Europe and two globally reflects IMD’s position as a world-leader in creating transformational programs with its clients.
“We aim to understand our clients and we work closely with them to create the best possible experiences for their respective organizations,” said Mike Stanford, Director of Partnership Programs. “Our Faculty thrives on the challenges given to us by our clients. It is gratifying that Faculty’s dedication and commitment is once again reflected in the FT Survey results.”
