For Edwin van der Meerendonk, taking part in a day-long supply chain contest was time well spent. Van der Meerendonk, Vice President of European Supply Chain for Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, participated in the Dutch-based Supply Chain Manager Magazine’s competition, which consisted of interviews, exercises and assignments on specific areas of supply chain strategy.
Van der Meerendonk emerged as the winner and was thus named the Dutch Supply Chain Manager of the Year. He also won the competition’s top prize – free tuition to IMD’s Managing the Global Supply Chain program.
Upon completing the six-day program, van der Meerendonk said: “The course has helped me in many ways. It allowed me to put supply chain topics into perspective.”
Professor Corey Billington, Director of the Managing the Global Supply Chain program, sat down with van der Meerendonk to discuss the program content and some of the challenges supply chain managers face.
