What is a podcast?
The term podcast is composed from iPod and broadcast. It means automated download of audio files and videos from the internet. The files are then displayed on the computer or mobile audio device.
Who can access these podcasts?
The full range of IMD’s podcasts are available to IMD Corporate Learning Network members. Selected podcasts are released and made available to non-members on an occasional basis.
Technical Requirements
In order to display a podcast you need a so-called podcasting client. This software downloads the MP3 audio file or the MPEG4 video file into your computer. If you use a mobile device, the software will automatically copy the file to you your player.
Now you can watch and listen to the file at any time and place you like. Usually a client will be able to display the file itself. You won’t necessarily need an iPod.
