Wal-Mart Brazil Executive credits IMD experience
Marcelo Vienna of Brazil believes his Executive MBA at IMD earned back in 2001 served as the roadmap for career advancement with the world’s leading retailer – Wal-Mart. He hasn’t stopped utilizing IMD as a platform for knowledge. In June 2008 Vienna participated in the Orchestrating Winning Performance (OWP) program and he regularly engages in learning with colleagues from his Executive MBA class.

China is going through an economic transition and Rae Yuan is proudly experiencing it first-hand.
Rae, a 2005 IMD Executive MBA graduate and currently the head of Roche Pharma’s Development Center in Shanghai, stated: “China is going through change from a manufacturing economy into an R & D economy. It is most rewarding to be in the transition and to be contributing to China.”
Since her upbringing in Shanghai, Rae has seen China climb the ladder in competitiveness.

These were the words Nikolai Germann used to summarize his Silicon Valley Venture Capital pitch exercise, a component of the IMD Executive MBA Discovery Expedition. Back in 2006, Germann and five of his Executive MBA colleagues put countless hours into preparing a pitch to a group of Silicon Valley venture capitalists on behalf of a start-up nanotechnology company based in Zurich. Not wanting to let his colleagues down, Germann endured a sleepless night prior to the morning pitch to a group of real Silicon Valley venture capitalists.
IMD Executive MBA graduates reflect on program's rigor and relevance
Too often when people see the "E" in EMBA they think it stands for easy, and associate it with weekend courses, or worse, e-mail-based programs. Sign up, maybe attend a few classes, participate in some online discussions, pay your money, and, voila, you get an MBA. There may be a place in the world for those "programs", but at IMD the MBA degree stands for an achievement and the acquisition of a large body of knowledge. This is learning that much takes time and effort, and also means taking risks.
