"Very valuable six weeks away from the office. I learned many new things – not only from lectures but also from valuable interaction with participants and out of many situations during games, simulations, coursework etc. In a learning mode, the mind opens and allows new and immediately applicable opportunities to emerge. Also, extremely valuable personal insights for my own leadership style and impact on others were gained."

What
You have had a successful career managing in an R&D, scientific, engineering, manufacturing, technical sales or IT capacity and you are moving towards a broader leadership role.
But if you have had only limited exposure to, or no formal training in the more traditional business functions such as marketing or finance, this transition can seem daunting.
The Mastering Technology Enterprise (MTE) program helps you transition more easily and prepares you to take on a significant leadership role.
Drawing on a 15-year history guided by industry needs, MTE:
Bringing research closer to the business
Upon graduating from MTE, you will be able to work more effectively across all business functions to reinforce the link between R&D/technology management and business strategy formulation and its execution. You will also be better equipped to keep your company abreast of technological advances that could affect your business.
Keeping your options open: MTE can now be credited towards IMD's Executive MBA program.
How
MTE comprises two fully-integrated program modules. Each module is three weeks and must be taken consecutively.
The highly interactive learning process reflects IMD’s "Real World. Real Learning" philosophy. It is case-based and draws from the experience of Faculty, fellow participants and guest speakers - including entrepreneurs, technology experts and industry thought leaders.
Your fellow participants will represent many nationalities, functions and industries. Team-based discussions, integrative exercises and a variety of social events create strong bonds among participants. All activities are in English.
Our Faculty
Some 75% of the Faculty are drawn from IMD and 25% from the two Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology. Over the course of this six week program, several business leaders and technology experts will be invited to participate in our discussions.
Coordination between the alliance institutes and outside partners is managed by Professor Ralf Seifert (IMD/EPFL) who serves as MTE Program Director.
