The IMD - Lombard Odier Global Family Business Award
Now in its fifteenth year, this award is considered by many family enterprises, which have successfully merged family and business interests, to be the most prestigious in the world.
The award, presented annually in partnership with the Geneva private bank Lombard Odier, also serves as research into best practices and innovative solutions for specific family business management issues.
Criteria of Excellence
The IMD-Lombard Odier Global family Business Award experts examine different aspects of the business with careful consideration of the personalities and values of the people who run the business. The Award is based on the excellence of the company's corporate identity, family and business personality, and its best practices.

“This award reinforces our faith in family and also in our ability to build business. It serves not only as recognition but as a great motivation to us and I am sure to succeeding generations as well; to take forward the mantle of responsibility with confidence, courage and conviction.”

Lombard Odier
Lombard Odier stands among the largest firms of private bankers in Switzerland and Europe. Founded in 1796 in Geneva, it has been passed on from generation to generation for more than two centuries. Tailor-made services, a view of excellence, unfailing competence in portfolio analysis and management, the desire to build a lasting relationship of trust, independence and company spirit are the many qualities on which the reputation of Lombard Odier have been built.
They remain the key values of Lombard Odier and will ensure its continuity. As members of the seventh generation of the founding families, its partners are pleased to support the IMD-Lombard Odier Global Family Business Award.
Chopard
Chopard has contributed the artfully crafted award trophy since 1999. Quality and creativity are the hallmarks of Chopard, the internationally known luxury watch and jewellery firm founded in 1860. Today, Chopard continues to produce high precision watches and precious jewellery through a skilful mix of innovative design, high technology and traditional craftsmanship. Chopard has a long tradition of excellence. Chopard also took the stage as a partner of the Cannes Film Festival, producing the “Palme d'Or” trophies in its own “ateliers”.
Chopard figures among the last few significant brands of watches and jewellery, which have preserved their independence. The uncommonly strong sense of family, which begins with the company's president Karl Scheufele and his wife Karin and continues into the next generation with Caroline and Karl-Friedrich, is the unifying force and the primary motivation for the firm's ongoing success.
