The research associates team is composed of 7 people. RAs focus on research and development of projects including:
Sophie Coughlan, BA, M.Sc. With a BA from Swarthmore College (USA) and a Master’s from Macquarie University (Australia), Sophie began her career in environmental policy analysis. As a web account manager, she became interested in how digital communities influence businesses. Sophie first came to IMD in 2002, researching non-traditional marketing and women in leadership. At London Business School (2004 to 2007), she was the Associate Director of the India Centre and managed the Centre for Marketing. Sophie returned to IMD in 2008, researching customer insights with John Walsh, global Indian companies with Bala Chakravarthy, as well as helping edit the 2008 OWP Book. Sophie is particularly interested in how business can be an engine for economic growth in the world’s poorest countries. |

Nancy Lane, M.Sc. After obtaining an MSc. in Economics from the London School of Economics, Nancy worked in the research branch of Allstate and in commercial risk management at Wells Fargo Bank. Her research interests include 360-degree coaching effectiveness, strategic leadership and integrity in leadership. Currently Nancy collaborates with Robert Hooijberg. |

Aparna Dogra, MBA Aparna specializes in the area of entrepreneurship and venture capital. She worked as Sales Manager with Reliance Industries Limited, India's largest business conglomerate followed by INSEAD as Director, Research and Business Development in the area of Entrepreneurship. Her role involved designing and executing the first ever MBA elective as well as Executive Education programs taught in India. She wrote extensively for INSEAD in Indian publications and was the editor of INSEAD's Entrepreneurship Newsletter. At IMD, Aparna is collaborating with Kamran Kashani on a book on marketing innovation and Anand Narasimhan on India based research. She earned a Masters in Chemistry and an MBA from India. |

Philippe Margery, M.Sc, MBA After having obtained his Master of Science in Applied Physics at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, Philippe started what would be a 10-year career in sales and business development in the IT industry across EMEA (Europe, Middle-East and Africa). His MBA from Warwick Business School gave him the basis to eventually become an entrepreneur. Philippe helped set up the European subsidiary of an American solutions provider to the pharmaceutical industry, established the French operations of a high-tech Norwegian company and had his own company in Brazil for the French and South American markets. He now collaborates with Stuart Read on innovation, Don Marchand on a case study of a particle physics project and Anand Narasimhan on networking in knowledge intensive firms. |

Anna Moncef, MBA After completing her MBA at IMD International(Switzerland), Anna spent several years in management consulting and interim management, advising multinationals, start-ups and family businesses in Western Europe as well as the emerging economies of Central and Eastern Europe. Her expertise and interests lie in strategy implementation, leadership, turnaround and change management. Anna's current work focuses on the OWP Book 2008, an IMD publication, as well as on understanding the leadership model of the International Olympic Committee and behind the scenes of the Olympic Games organization. In the above mentioned projects she collaborates with many Faculty members including Bettina Büchel, Benoît Leleux, Stuart Read and Donald A. Marchand. |
